For its first eight years this TR7 had two private owners and was a standard 2 ltr vehicle. In the late 1980’s it was purchased by the well known TR7 specialist ”S&S Preparations”. The TR was transformed by S&S as a show case demonstrator vehicle which included a re-build, conversion to 4 ltr V8 power, full leather re-trim and many new and one off parts to improve over standard. The vehicle was featured in many car magazine articles and also was displayed at many classic and sports car shows both nationally and internationally. Whilst on a test run in the early 1990’s the vehicle was involved in an accident and was actually rolled and consequently badly damaged. S&S decided due to the amount of costs and hours spent on developing the vehicle that they would completely re-build it using one of the few remaining original BL body shells. Many of the development parts and trim were salvaged and re-used. Once completed, the vehicle was again used as a demonstrator for the next couple of years until it was replaced in 1995 with a different TR and sold. Since then it has only had four owners and has covered around 32,000 fun, noisy miles.
