This was followed with lunch at Betws y Coed and another photo opportunity !
Our second trip was from an invite from a group of Lotus seven owners to join them on Rhos on Sea promenade on 19th April and there was a good selection of cars on show and this we will probably support again in the coming months….
The Dragons at Spa Classic in Belgium, May 22-24 2015, and what a brilliant time was had……..

Shelsey Walsh Hill Climb 18/07/15
– Many dragons attended this event which proved a big hit as both the drives there and back together with an excellent event and weather proved a real winner.
We also had a special visitor to our display during the day, the TR designer Harris Mann ( He’s on the left here !)
We had eight cars on display which was an excellent turn out.
We also, as can be seen, had the welsh flags flying high over our cars !
Oulton Park Gold Cup Weekend – 31/08/2015
The dragons ( note seven sevens !) at a rather damp event, but the bonus was the slippery track conditions which resulted in some good racing offs and moments.

BREAKING NEWS !!!!!!
The long lost BOF (Breakdown on a Fun Run) Award which has been searched for here, there and everywhere (twice) over at least, the last twelve months at long last been located !! I must emphasise this is not conjecture, hearsay or wild unfounded drunken gossip…….. as a diligent Dragon made the discovery only last weekend at our Cholmondeley Castle event and we have identified and confirmed it to be the genuine ( unique) item and as proof have a look here……
and for further confirmation we have also identified the vehicle that ‘failed’ back on the 40th anniversary run…….
when you move the photo out this is what we see ……………
and the present holder is…..er…Beryl ? And I am sure Champs won’t mind me using his ‘cover’ name so as to keep his identity secret !
Tony Lee Memorial Run – 13-09-2015
The Red Dragons, in memory of the sad loss of Tony Lee, organised a memorial run to visit one of the locations of the infamous TR Development car shots and the chosen location was at Bwlch y Groes outside Bala on the summit of the locally known Rover / Triumph test road. We recreated the shot with a couple of our cars and also laid flowers at the location in memory of Tony Lee.
On the last weekend, before my car went into it’s winter ‘hibernation’, managed to track down the second location of the ‘development shots’ through some good rally colleagues with excellent local knowledge and here’s the proof
This completed the search the Red Dragons took on in memory of Tony Lee
Christmas lunch 13/12/2015
To end our year we had our Christmas bash at Plas Hafod and a good time was had by all
A surprise award ceremony, all organised by our Gareth, proved a real winner and was very well received.
The first was the Navigation award sponsored by TomTom which was fiercely contested by Andy for going to the wrong hotel on the Shelsey Walsh event and by Jim for the less scenic tour of was it Gloucester or Stroud – not sure, on the return trip from Castle Coombe.
The Metalworker of the year award sponsored by Sheffield Steel was taken by the first class engineering support, keeping our TR’s running, given together with stunning photography support on our events.
The Wind on Tour award sponsored by Heinz and freBREEZE was unchallenged with a clear winner who runs the three cylinder twelve valve twin cam machine
The Tour Organiser of the year sponsored by P&O Ferries
The Euro BoF award sponsored by SnapOn went for the quickest fuel pump exchange ever seen on the hard shoulder of a Belgian Motorway.
Winner Mark M
The upgrade of the year award sponsored by Practical Classics was originally contended by two but with Howards’ still in the side lines then this left a clear first.
The Patience award sponsored by Chill Pills and Kevlar for the person having to have the p*** taken throughout the year and having to attend the most club events in a non TR vehicle.
The Non TR triumph award sponsored by TSSC went to the owners of the Herald.
Winners Debs & Lynn
The final award was for the longest holder of the BoF award sponsored by our very reliable Tr’s was taken by a clear margin.
Winner Mark C
And here’s the awards ceremony shot of the winners ( excluding mark C who had to leave early……and Debs n Lynn)
