The 2017 season has started and we have some new cars details to follow .
The new year has a number of events scheduled as detailed on the calendar Events page. The majority of cars will soon come out of their winter hibernation and readying to be run for this season which is looking very promising with numerous and varied events already on the calender.
We have added a new tab to cover a summary of our events we participate in for this year, so have a look and see what we have been up to !
So here is a bit about our club and area – also don’t forget to check out our events page, which details the present plans we have in place for this year.
We are a group of like minded Triumph TR sports car enthusiasts from the North Wales & Cheshire areas who have a particular fondness for the classic TR7 model! That’s not to say we don’t like any of the other Triumph marques… some of the group also own other Triumph models
The North Wales Red Dragons are affiliated to the TR Drivers Club (TRDC), an international classic car club that was formed in 1981 to support the later TR series of cars (a time when none of the established Triumph owners clubs accepted or in fact had any interest in the TR7 model). Since ’81 the TR Drivers club has grown from strength to strength and now has dedicated area groups and members all over the world, who not only own TR7’s but also sports cars from the whole TR range.
Our area was established around 1990 by Colin Jones from Flint Mountain. The first meeting of the group was on the 27th November 1990 at The Red Lion in Northop. Some 24 years on it is still very well supported and has an active group of enthusiasts.
We enjoy everything that comes with being a member of a classic car club and owning a treasured classic car, road runs, race events, both national and international, classic car shows, camping and weekends away to name just a few. If you would like to join us you can either come along to one of our monthly meetings on the first Friday of the month (at the Plough Inn, Aston Road, Queensferry, CH5 1TJ – 8.30pm) – PLEASE check the Twitter section as sometimes we ‘as a group’ move to another Friday but there will be a Twitter message detailing any changes! or use the TRDC ‘join us’ link from our website. We all very much look forward to meeting you and seeing your classic car!
We hope you enjoy our site and the information from our pages – we like to keep it current so if you have any information you would like included please use the contact us page or submit information to the local group meeting.
